With this in mind, theAfrican Urban Music Campus (AUMC), launched by Kajou in partnership with the Luxembourg Cooperation (LUXDEV) and the Daara J Family group, offers free, accessible training. Young people, with no diploma prerequisites, can train for jobs in urban music and the cultural and creative industries (CCI) via a series of 10 modules available on the Kajou app.
Flexible, practical and accessible training
Microlearning offers flexible, interactive training: each module is designed to be consumed at one's own pace, with offline access to resources. Whether learning to write lyrics, branding, sound design or career management, young artists can be actively involved in their learning, whenever and wherever they are.
L'African Urban Music Campus draws on the expertise of world-renowned urban music tenors such as Ndongo D, Faada Freddyand Selly Raby Kanewho will guide learners through hands-on masterclasses in video sessions, infographics and online capacity-building workshops through interactive quizzes.
With this approach, theAfrican Urban Music Campus and Kajou are providing a concrete response to the educational challenges facing West Africa, enabling more than 10,000 young people to train for the professions of tomorrow, while fostering the emergence of new talent in urban culture.
