Our Dakar-based production studio creates multimedia content for education, training and information that is fun and accessible to all, based on our in-depth knowledge of the field and local realities in West Africa.
We create tailor-made content in French, English and national languages, in fields as varied as formal education, health, financial education, agriculture and entrepreneurship - in any format.
Our philosophy regarding co-creation of educational content:
> A granular approach to learning: each content is centered on a key concept, which allows learners to break down their progress and teachers and trainers to compose personalized learning paths to the profile of each learner.
> Effective content that focuses on the essentials : Our content is designed to promote rapid knowledge acquisition. While remaining attractive, the chosen formats do not distract the learner from the key message.
> Formats adapted to learners' attention spans: we adapt the length of the videos, the format of the content and the density of the message to the age and attention spans of the learners.
> Mastery pedagogy: the content is organized into educational paths designed to encourage complete mastery of the concepts studied.
> Valuing mistakes: We learn by making mistakes. Our content doesn't stigmatize mistakes. On the contrary, it encourages learning by trial and error and builds learners' self-confidence through regular feedback and a positive attitude.

Our frugal, local AI assistants are available even without internet access
At Kajou, we believe that artificial intelligence should not be the preserve of the world's technological powers, nor dependent on a permanent connection to the Internet. Our approach is frugal, open source and resolutely inclusive.
We develop and deploy AIs that operate in offline mode, directly embedded on our cards and devices. They are designed to be accessible in the most constrained contexts, where connectivity is weak or non-existent, but where the need for information, training and support is immense.
We train our models on the basis of local datasets, in local languages, built with communities. Our aim: to create artificial intelligences rooted in the cultural, linguistic and social realities of the territories where we operate, for truly useful, ethical and sustainable use.
Our AI is open source because we believe that impact should take precedence over ownership. We collaborate with researchers, NGOs, public institutions and local communities to build AI for the South, for the benefit of as many people as possible.

Our technology to circumvent internet access problems and data costs
Data too expensive, limited connectivity... we get around classic connectivity problems with our Kajou MicroSD card technology!
Kajou is natively offline, meaning that it is primarily designed for users with poor Internet connections.
We make the content (e-learning and AI) available on Kajou memory cards, which fit into the smartphone's microSD port and give access to the training courses without requiring any internet data.
When the phone is connected to the Internet, Kajou automatically updates and transmits tracking and analytics information.
Even without an internet connection, users receive notifications generated by the Kajou app, boosting engagement and completion.
The solution is also available online (as an e-card) for users connected to the Internet.
